May 11 - "Letters from War" concert

The celebration of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is a tribute to those who defended the Motherland in the fateful years of 1941-1945. This is a holiday of memory that spans generations and is of particular importance. This year marks the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The "Military Letters" concert of creative teams of the Moscow State Institute of Music named after A.G. Schnittke was held on the 11th of May, in The Great Hall of the MSU Cultural Center. Among the participants of the concerts there were:
  • the Moscow Folk Orchestra (artistic director and conductor - Nikolai Mikhailovich Aldanov, professor, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Belarus, member of the Union of Concert Workers of the Russian Federation)

and

  • the Academic Choir of the Conducting Department of the Gnessin Academy of Music (conductor - Professor Dmitry Onegin)

About 10 international students from Moscow University joined this event and enjoyed such melodies as "Katyusha", "Let's Bow to Those Great Years", "Victory Day", "Dark Night" and "Wait for Me", that are so meaningful to the Russian heart.
